25/52
"A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2013."
Che: Keeping me company as I recover from a nasty 24hour bug.
Poet: Running from a sea of pink.
I love them both beyond measure.
This week we celebrated the winter/summer solstice and next week marks the middle of the calendar year. As I mentioned earlier, I'm going to launch an extra "52" post that features my favourite three portraits (for each child) from the first half of 2013. I'll include a link-up so you can join in too. But I'm wondering, what should I call it?
...................................................................................................................................
This week a sweet bubble boy made me smile / sceptical Clementine is adorable - looking forward to cuddling her next week / colour and joy and four beautiful children over at "a bit of sunshine..." / a squatting babe in her fun and whimsical nursery / and finally, Vanessa's post stayed with me all week. A letter to her boys, explaining the lack of photos for the week. A beautiful reminder for us all.

What a wonderful idea Jodi, I'd love to join in. Maybe just 3? x
ReplyDeleteI love those bed sheets! And little Poet looks perfect in those colors surrounded by matching fallen blooms.
ReplyDeletelove the illustration! who is it by? x
ReplyDeleteit's a shanna murray decal x
Deletewhat a wonderful idea....i like 3 as well! loving both your portraits this week, hope you feel better xxxx
ReplyDeletei'd like to join in...i know that it will take me like forever though to pick my 3!!
ReplyDeletesuch lovely shots this week jodi. is that one of shanna's decals? we have a few here in our home too and i never ever get tired of gazing at them. hope you are feeling better now. i am sure just having che close helped. seeing poet's jacket done up like that made me smile tonight xx
Your children are adorable, but it's the backgrounds of these shots that's taking my breath away. You have such talent!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful portrait of Che. It is so precious. How are you ever going to pick your top three?! X
ReplyDeletelove those beautiful shades of pink! Lovely peaceful captures!
ReplyDeletethese are stunningly gorgeous and i love the extra idea! Perhaps 52/3?
ReplyDeleteI love the way you always link your shots, be it the light, colours, facial expressions or balance.
ReplyDeleteHT3 (Half Year Three)
ReplyDeleteLove the pink in poet's portrait. I love seeing a flash of pink, having 4 boys I do not get many photos of them with 'girly' colours or I am in big trouble!
Hope you are feeling better Jodi xx
ReplyDeleteI love that colour of pink in the second photograph, and the use of space in the first. Despite being sick, you're photography is right on mark!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful as always. x
I love the pink of Poet's photo.
ReplyDeleteAnd Che looks so mature.
As always, I love this project.
I love the idea of featuring three of our favorites... Ideas for a name: Top Three (plain and simple), THREE (you can make it more of a modern button, like repeating "three"... more typographic in nature), The Pit Stop (a little stop on a long journey).... hmmm... I'll keep thinking ;)
ReplyDeleteLove your images this week, by the way.
ReplyDeleteI agree with MommaBBAbyboy, your portraits are amazing, but I love how your backgrounds tell a story all of their own, adding to the lushness of your children's' stories.
ReplyDeletethese pictures are delightful. I hope you're feeling much better..x
ReplyDeleteMaybe 3/26? Love the photo of Poet x
ReplyDeleteLovely photos of your babies Jodi.
ReplyDeleteas for names of your favourite 3 snaps so far how about something related to the glass being half full.
x
How about Pic 3 play on pick 3? Thanks for hosting this, I have enjoyed the process!
ReplyDeleteI'm really looking forward to seeing which three you choose next week - it will be a hard decision!
ReplyDeletePoet's photo is lovely, almost looks like she is twirling amongst the petals.
Thank you Jodi. Sometimes we need to let go and listen, and as I've learned this past week sometimes things really need to go pear-shaped for us to get back on track. Hope you're feeling better (I had the same 24hr gastro bug in the same week - not my finest moment!) x
ReplyDeleteNor mine, Vanessa. And we had run out of chicken stock - the one thing that I knew would make it better! I'm on day 3 of bed rest - translation: working from bed. x
DeleteOh no! Today is day 10 of this torn ligament shoulder. It got better half way through and then ultrasound at physio put me back to the start. Would you believe that I did the blossoming lotus minutes after I tore it?! It was a spectacular one-on-one class and obviously have been in too much pain to do anything since! But I'll be back to it soon I'm sure. Let me know if you need me to pick up some chicken carcasses as I'll be heading there this week. x
DeleteI hope that you are feeling better now. I love that photo of Poet with her sweet bonnet and the flowers behind her almost matching and the perspective too. xx
ReplyDeleteI hope you're feeling better, dear lady. Kellie xx
ReplyDeletegorgeous cosy spot of Che and Poet has just a gorgeous collection of hats! Hope you are on the mend!!!
ReplyDeleteYou could call it 'third time's a charm' or 'three is the magic number'?
ReplyDeleteI love the decal. Is there a link to buy? As for the pick 3 project...I do like the play on 3 that some of the above commenters mentioned.
ReplyDeletePoor you! Tummy bugs are hideous at the best of times but tummy bugs when you're a Mumma and all kinds of horrid. We'll wrap you up with beauty and nourishing things to eat and drink on Saturday. Beautiful babies as always :) xx
ReplyDeleteGreat shots! and what a great idea for the pick 3 project, I'm glad my bubble boy make you smile, hope you feel better soon xo
ReplyDeleteYay, can't wait for Saturday! x
ReplyDeleteHoping you're feel better soon, mama!
